Description
Nikon 7900 image.
Just another of my mushroom/fungii finds. I managed to find this one in one of my reference books . It/they are Gem-studded Puffballs (Lycoperdon perlatum). Although the book says this is a choice edible shroom, I am not going to eat the next one I find because I am not confident enough to risk it, lol.
This grouping did look photogenic enough for me to take their picture.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.

Beautiful colours,lovely composition and lighting
Beautiful composition. I LOVE it!
I probably wouldn't eat those if I came upon them in the woods? But if someone prepared them I'm sure I'd try a few tastes, of course, then I'd be hooked and want them all the time... excellent image!!!!
They are sure a happy sight in the woods. I love the bumps and the round heads on them. Fantastic!
Nice looks like a nest with eggs in.
Beautiful...
Lol. They certainly live up to their name lovely shot and presentation
Excellent find, for sure Lee. Glad you didn't have a taste - better safe than sorry!
As a born and bred city dweller, I only eat what comes from the grocery store! Another beautiful nature shot, Lee.
What a lovely nature shot. They look a little to prickly for my taste though.
Very cool image. Looks like an explosion of sorts. Very appropriate for the holiday. The colors look very pretty in this image (as nature intended I'm sure).
Beautiful shot! I've seen too many warnings when it comes to mushrooms. They seem to all say "these are safe, but there are some other ones that look just like them that will kill you!" I'll pass on having them for dinner!
I think I'll stick to the ones in the stores. I know they are safe. These are gorgeous to look at though. Superb capture. Bunny
