Description
Another unusual flower from Ann's wonderful garden. I called her last night to ask her what the name of this plant is - she usually has far more information than I ever need. She said, "Oh I don't know - I just call it lipstick!"
So there you have it.
...............
I made the image nice and big, so if you look at it in full view, you'll be able to see each photo in a larger format. (Sorry Harry!)
..............
..............
Edit note:
Thanks so much to rockstrider for identifying this flower! He has informed me that it is actually a member of the Alliaceae family, and is called "Brodiaea ida-maia." I verified the information, and am quite satisfied that he is 100% correct. Thanks, Carl!

I don't think I've ever seen this one before???? It's very cool though, I think I'm going to have to hop on the ferry and come visit Ann's garden... excellent!!!
Very beautiful and striking red:)
You are right, it looks fantastic bigger. Love the red, so inviting. Great shot. Aloha and have a safe 4th of July.
What an unusual plant, especially to my floral challenged eyes! You may see lipstick in this photo, but to me, this is an excellent capture of what look like red cucumbers, or lemonade/raspberry popsicles. Really vivid and vibrant colors in this shot, T. And, I've stayed away from any inferences to the male genitalia at this point.
Very unusual indeed but beautiful bright red. Wish that I could see Ann's garden. It must be really beautiful.
Wow.............what lovely pictures of this most unusual plant.........much prettier than the usual indoor Lipstick plant, but I have no idea what this is........... beautifully presented too! Thank you Something new is always a treat!
