I remember this engagement. My father sometimes tells me about the battle. It was "one of the most famous naval engagements in history." The Yamato, Admiral Yamahito's flagship, was destroyed along with almost every remaining ship in the Japanese fleet.

Great work. Don't recognize the superstructure, but what do I know about Japanese ships?..;) great detail nonetheless. Keep 'em coming.

The deep water is fantastic.. the ship shadow on its reflection, the cut off wave at the front of the ships..the foam trail at their back! The atmosphere is foggy dawn yet it allows you to see the mountains at the back.. Just another fantastic masterpiece of war scenery worthwile for a frame! :)

DramaKing has his facts a bit off: The Yamato withdrew from the battle of Leyte Gulf, and was later sunk in April 1945 by over 300 american carrier-based dive bombers as she headed for Okinawa in basically a last-ditch, suicide, run toward the American fleet. It was her sister-ship, the Musashi that was sunk at Leyte...
