Description
Ann came over the other day with this little cutting. "Quick," she said, "take a picture of this before it wilts!" I'd never seen such a thing before, so I complied with great alacrity. Apparently this is a kiwi flower, and more specifically a female kiwi flower.
Ann is just full of little surprises! Apparently she has three kiwi plants, and the females are blooming like crazy. The males, it seems, have not held up their end of the bargain as of yet.

What a beautiful, delicate little thing. Tell Ann to light a fire under those plants not cooperating! LOL Lovely shot, and a great in-between color!
Who knew you could take a picture with alacrity? I always thought you needed a camera.
I am starting to rely on you for my daily smile.........now, I can add a hearty guffaw as your comments tickled me so! (Typical males!) Oh yes, about the pic......it's lovely! I especially like the comparison between the fragility of those papery petals and the toughness of that leathery leaf..........
Like the colors and the textures in this image, great detail.

This a beautiful. I have have kiwi before but I never knew it had flowers. They don't come with flowers in the supermarkets.
wonderful shot, lovely colour and the inside is exotic
Cool shot...Thank Ann for sharing this with us
Lovely details and colours
Absolutely beautiful. Superb details!
Doesn't sound like any males I know. Will this kiwi flower, or the plant thereof, produce any of the delicious kiwi fruit I buy at the market? Anyway, a fine POV displaying an interesting umbrella rib effect of the flower, which I have never seen before, in this macro, Tara.
Very nice work!
beautiful my friend
it is a real beauty and excellent macro
it looks like the inside of a egg roll or something good. I want to eat it. Very nice
Well, you know how males are. Thank you and Ann for this; I'd never seen a Kiwi blossom before. I love the contrast between the dark leaves and the pastel of the petals. Very nice, Tara.
