Description
I came across this Great Horned Owl male at a recent festivity at another city. He just wanted to show me his back, then turned that head around to see who was behind. The look didn't last long..just another photographer. Yes, his back is still toward me, as is his face.
They can turn 180 degrees while we are limited to about 90 or so. We have 7 vertebrae in our necks, as do most other birds and also giraffes.
The owl has 14 vertebrae..more turning allowed.
