Can you see the problem here? You know what's going through my mind right now? Remember the show, Green Acres? Oliver and Lisa Douglas!? Remember the song? Greee-e-en Acres is the place to be... yeah yeah, that song! That is what's playing in my head right now! Why? Well look at me! Look at this man! Right now, I can totally relate to Lisa! I used to love that show, who would ever believe that I'd be living it in my own life! See this man here holding onto me with a death grip? He is the brother of my girlfriend's husband. Joking around I asked if this person existed! Well duh! Yeah - he does, and now I'm in one helluva fix! He wants me to live on a piece of farmland with stinky cows, big fat pigs! Chickens, going to get the eggs myself - me! When I get eggs, I have a choice, small, medium, or large! They're all washed and cleaned, neatly set in their nice cartons. There are no corner stores! There's no Neiman Marcus! None of the fancy restaurants I'm accustomed to eating at. Or any of the little haircare places I like to frequent! This just will not do! I've tried reasoning with him, I mean come on, this is the year 2000! I keep telling him, there's no reason to do the farm thing! But look at him! Talk about stubborn and mulish! "Jake please - can't you just try to live in Chicago? Its not that bad really. You'll get used to it." "I'm not living in the city - nor will we be bringing our kids up there. Over crowded, dirty, busy, no one knows their neighbor. Everything and anything of value not fastened down, alarm loaded, chained up or gated in - gone! So look around you my sweet! Get used to the sight. Because here, this is going to be your home!" "Yeah right! I'll have you know I've been bitten five times already on this little walk!" "That's okay, a walk here might get you bit. A walk in that city, might get you killed!" "There are loose animals around here! When I wanna see a wild animal, I'll go to the zoo!" "You'll go to the zoo!" He returned mockingly, "You lived in the zoo! Surrounded by wild animals! At least with these, we can hunt, shoot and eat'em!" "Excu-u-use me. The only meat I eat, comes in perfect little plastic wrapped styrafoam trays, already cut-up and ready to go." Jake chuckled, "Yeah, well, times have changed. No worries, you'll get used to it. On a summers night we'll sit out on our front porch, I'll strum my guitar, seranade you until bed-time." He smiled with a wink.
