Description
Harris Hawks are one of the few broadwinged hawks that will readily hunt in a team (sometimes called a cast), when they are socialised with each other. Even to the point of standing on top of each other like a circus troop.
When hunting as a team, they will take turns in flushing the quarry while the others wait & attack when flushed. This enables the hunting to carry on for longer than usual, often with the prey tiring before the birds. If the prey hides in bushes, then some of the group will attempt to go in after the prey, while the rest wait on the other side for the prey to rush out.
Added a bit of atmosphere via photoshop not sure If I got it right?

Great shot!
So magnificent, Danny. I love how realistic and yet painterly this is. Sigh ...it puts my Harris Hawk to shame... :^( -M ;^)
What a stunning "portrait" Danny! Superb stuff.

Very nice shot. the post pro does make this pic more like a painting. But the painting gives a great effect. If the bird was mirrored in the pic it could work as a backround on any computer too.
The sky in background is fantastic here ! Of course you had an excellent idea to add this atmosphere here Danny , that goes so well with expression and pose and this eagle ! Wonderfull work !
The atmospher is not bad but to be honest with you.. I think your pictures can do without any effect. This one is no exception I think.
atmosphere is perfect, great photo mate
oh yes, you got it RIGHT!
Wow!!!! fantastic image, the atmosphere is great!!!!!!!! for my favs!!! Thank you and bravo Danny!!!
A very dramatic shot! The backdrop is a perfect match for the hawk. Great job.
Great postwork mate, really lifts the image. Shot at 40mm according to the exif; unless thats from the composite background you were very close!
I love this POV and the postowrk with colour and atmosphere work perfectly. We did the same bird today.. Hugs
wow, I love that background with this shot, perfect lighting....
Very dramatic Danny, a bit on the dark and flat side when viewed on my monitor at 700 pix wide though. Otherwise lovely and it looks better at full size.
I think you've captured the escense of the hunter in this shot... steadfast, determined, not to be denied! I love the darkness and forboding nature of this one!!
Awesome!!
What a mood you caught here Danny, just wonderfully spooky, and the bird so beautiful!
OMGosh Danny ... this one has me FLOORED!!! Not many photo's better than this!!!!!
This guy looks like he's ready to eat. Fab capture, and the postwork adds a little drama too!!
Well it was the backdrop on the thumb that caught my eye. And it really adds excitement to this beautiful bird of prey.
Such fabulous shot and wonderfull dark atmosphere!
wonderful shot, the atmosphere blended in beautifully
I'm totally stunned at this pic! it is just sooooo wonderful. You have the pose and compositition of the subject perfect and the background balanced spot on in placement and style for a wonderfully moody presentation. Love it! Jen
