Description
Forgive my fanciful Title but I had hoped to obtain the 3D look via the background which I checked with the DOF preview. The Brown Clipper (Parthenos sylvia) love to sun bath and as a result are a good species to try out such things!
The species was first scientifically described in 1775 by Pieter Cramer, a Dutch merchant of Spanish wool with a great interest in butterflies.
The common name, clipper, is an allusion to the species

What a beautiful butterfly.
I would say you succeeded very well in achieving a 3D effect...especially when I zoom in to full size! You chose the perfect title for this perfect shot!! Excellent as always! :-)
This really does look 3D ... with the antennae seeming to jump right out and that touch of shadow under the wings, the effect is really impressive, as are all of your recent butterflies!
Butterflies and birds are my favorite creatures and you certainly have been capturing them both most beautiful in your gallery. We most do everything we can to protect these from environmental dangers. Thank you for sharing. egmont
