Cool concept, Doug. I always enjoy your vivid colour choices and energy. I think a more dramatic angle (it's very 2-dimensional right now, almost on a proscenium arch) might add to the visual impact and depth of your scene. If, for example, the camera was placed behind and below the girl, with enough room to include the guy in the deep background, you would have a heightened sense of the imminent conflict about to take place. Just a suggestion. Good work!
Clever there's a fine line between magic and science and seems you perfectly blended the two. Despite being surrounded by tech the combatants are using magic instead.
