Hi guys and girls!
I am sure everybody knows about the canopic jars from egypt. These containers holds some organ of the dead person, the top represents the four son of Horus.
Falcon head, (Qebehsenuef) guarded a lower intestines.
Human head, (Imsety) guard of the liver.
Baboon, (Hapy) guard of the lung.
Jackal, (Duamutef) was guarded a stomac and a upper intestines.
Egyp ppl belived these organ were very important to preserve for afterlife.
You may ask what whith a heart? At the final ritual a person heart was weighted againts Maat the "truth of feather". If a person was true and worthy in living he or she past a test, if not the heart was trhown to the creature called Am-mit.
