Description

For more than 2 years Vue users fight primarily with "Out of Memory errors" and Pz3 to problems etc., and wait for new updates which are afterwards again a "Downdate". Postings in Vue forums are full with "if this happens then switch this off and activate that". After the disaster with Vue5, I thought E-on would have learned from this mistakes. NOPE!!! Someone should explain the name "final" to E-on. Maybe a lawyer should do this....

I just got into this 3D world last year. I have seen many things with Vue... from what little I know of vue it looks like a program to design "Earthy elements"... Don't know if I ever plan on getting it but I thank you for the info... I'd like to mention that poser is not the easiest program either. I get "freeze ups" and I don't even add that much content, because I'm just learning. good luck, I hope you have better times with it. This picture looks awesome.

That's a great way of getting the message across, I changed a few settings in my BIOS and altered my screen res and that cleared up quite a few of the problems, but your right about the memory leaking and it's not acceptable with the final release, if you want to tell me your system spec I might be able to aleviate some of the problems. Great render by the way.

What have we learned from Microsoft years ago? Never buy software version x.0! Seems the same applies to 3D packages today. Just bought a brand new copy of Poser 5 at Amazon a few weeks ago for apporx. 30 Euros, registered it and downloaded the latest update. Now I have perfect performance at a very reasonable price. Sure not the last time I did it like that. Excellent image by the way!!

Excellent message and image! Indeed V6I has lots of memory leaks. They even came up with that ridiculous "purge memory" manual option! The program is so weak handling memory leaks that it basically asks the user to handle it for him! And even so it doesn't work well. Just a simple test: load a complex object (preferably PZ3), delete it completely and purge the memory; repeat the same a few times and see the memory going down and down... until it crashes. Didn't the programmers try this?! I didn't install the final release of V6I yet and I won't. Only when V7 comes out I will install the (then!) final release of V6I.

A bit harsh. I have yet had 1 crash since i bought Vue 6. And i have never had any memory errors, even though I'm running Windows Vista which has bnrought me many problems with other applications, some even wont install.

I have V6 infinite, and though I don't have the memory errors I find it crashes or hangs for the least thing! Wonderful image Helmut, picture says it all! :)

I think this image should be entered into e-onsoftware's Picture of the Day.... I think they'll love it. ;)

Great concept - allthough very sad that you are dissapointed by Vue. I never tried Vue myself. Have always seen superb images on Rendo, but when I downloaded a trial, it always crashed after a few minutes... without even doing too much... So I gave it up :-(

Wish we could give this image a 10 rating instead of a 5. It certainly desearves it. Ya pic of the day for sure. :)

ROFL!!! I gave the so called final version one try after a technician told me it would be much better than the last official update for the pre-release. Same problems - I went immediately to uninstall it and use now again the pre-release with a working older update! Sometimes I think e-on is digging his own grave with all those so called "Final versions". I'm not sure how long users will pay for betatesting a program that doesn't work like promised since the Vue 4 Pro release!

LOL what a lovely memorial! I wonder who gave the eulogy? Hey, if we are having to pay for the funeral and burial, I vote for cremation! It's cheaper!

I to would of thought that the mem leaks would of been fixed surly by now, I brought V6I like 2 day's ago and have had nothing but problem's. I thought to myself, maybe it's just the complex scenes I'm doing that's causing the prob's ( wanting to test the ray effect's ) so I run the render accross the network. Same prob, " out of memory ".. both system's are AMDX2's 4600+ with 2Gb ( 1Gb sticks ) Dule channle 128bit Corsair TwinX DDR400. Render was at 1600x1000 Figure that one out. Love the pic dude, couldnt put it any better myself..

You old rebel you!! VBG. Do you think they would post it at E-ON?? I haven't really had drastic problems with the "final" version, but then I am still at a fairly basic stage of rendering. Do run out of memory though. Great job, Helmut ;}}I dpn't usually rate but this deserves a 5

Great image. Vue is a wonderful program but unstable. Version 5 still has problems yet they released 6 anyway.

Yep - I don't always add a "me, too" kind of comment, but I finally got my copy of Vue 6 Espirit, and today (the first day I really have had a chance to play with it) I have had 4-5 crashes so far. Sad, really, but the price we pay for a first release. Poser 6 was not exactly stable until SR2, really. Here's hoping the programmers get this thing working, since it is a great program in a lot of ways.
