Description
Never before have I seen a clamdigger like this godwit pecking for seeds and bugs like these coots. He seemed okay, able to fly, but... well, California is the land of diversity, isn't it?

Maybe he was hatched by the wrong family, like in the Ugly Duckling. :o) This is a very cool image, because it says more about diversity than it does about the birds. Wonderful! I am in California too, by the way... and understand what you mean.
hard to say what a godwit is thinking, but maybe worms taste like a muddy clam?
