Description

A young ensign gets her first taste of deep space adventure, in the form of checking and rechecking a cargo bay full of provisions. Hey, it can't all be "Red Alert!" and "Weapons to Maximum!" or "Re-route the isolinear coupler to the plasma manifold!" and whatnot... I haven't done a Trill pic since forever so I thought it was time for one. It's also been a while since I've done a non T&A pic, so here's to my semi-monthly quota on that front. There is no postwork here except for putting the frames together and adding my sig. If I had the chance and the time I'd go back and fix a bunch of stuff (The Padd is blurred up for some reason) I would. But I don't, so I won't. It's the attitude of the knife, you cut off whatever doesn't fit and say "Now it is complete, because here is where it ends." Credits: Body deformers by Wyrmmaster, Skin tex a mix of stuff (spots by me), trek com badge, ensign pip, padd, cargo bay props and console by dtemachine, walls taken from the volga runabout set from www.scifi-meshes.com/, hair by kozaburo, character (face) by me, catsuit texture a mix (a freestuff trek texture by ? blended with an awful soul cloth texture). I'm still looking for the "joy" part... Is it in her hand? Does she got a good movie she's going to go watch? I bet she wants to go watch that scene Capt Kirk was in... the one where he keeps kicking the Klingon in the head and says: "I... have had... enough... of YOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!" That's gotta be up in the top 3 favorite scenes of Star Trek for me. Your picture looks just like the newer Star Trek... I'm old fashion. I didn't care for the newer shows. I think it's because the old show was just toooo good and colorful. They were going places. Whenever I sat down to watch the next generation, they never left their ship and the colors were so drab - turn off.

Hmmm...Maybe not all the excitement of a red alert but still a nice scene and there is always the possibility of an encounter by one of her many 'pursuers'. :)

hmm... that's eerily familiar to our 'armed forces' adds we see on TV. They show all these great things you could be doing and yet, everyone I have ever known that went into some branch of service says those commercials are false... oh well, they gotta hook ya somehow :P looks great, nice change from star wars.

Fantastic work combining these elements together into the final image- and the spots you created for the texture map are perfect! Very cool!

This is a pretty fine piece and your right there have to moments in the Star Trek Universe that just seem like boring mudane tasks for ensigns and other low ranking officers.

The simple joys of a young officer lol very, very good idea! I remember to have quit becoming a Trekkie when this obnoxious young Ensingn - I refuse to remember his name - took over and Captain Picard had to look old and spent... That here's the right task for young people. Yes it is!

Dear Pete, Yep, someone has got to keep the infrastructure going!!! Even Star Trek boils down to routine at times. Some of the ex-Navy guys were talking about space travel one day. I suspect from their comments that an extended flight would be a lot like life aboard one of our submarines. I'm not sure I'd like be cooped up that long!!!! Suepr job with the set and props!! I don't know about the pad - it wouldn't be the first time that Poser has done some weird stuff with textures!!! Great pose and super job creating our hard working Ensign!!!! A quick update - I passed my checkride on the Citation X!!!! WOO-HOO!!!!!!! But I had a REALLY crummy trip home. I got a ride on a CJ2 to Addison (Dallas) but then couldnt get to San Antonio. My stupid flight manuals were the problem! Southwest wanted a LOT of money to carry them as they were WAY over the baggage allowance!!! I finally got a ride in a Lear back to SA. To find a dead car battery - and then drove 200 miles back to Houston!!! Its been a LONG two days!!!!! Ill be catching up on stuff at Renderosity the rest of the weekend!!!!!!! Love ya!!! Oh, come on now... you know as well as I do that she'd be so bored with that job that she'd do it in the nude, covered with oil... Well, despite the elements that are missing, it's a good picture anyway. ;)
