Description

It was soooooooooooooo cold here yesterday with that wind blowing like it was. Not sure what the temp was but i'm sure with the wind it was well below zero. Anyway, I was told there were hundreds of white swans at the river yesterday morning, so in the afternoon, I had to check it out. There weren't 'hundreds' when I was there .. just a 'few' floating out in the middle of the river. I took a few shots anyway. Later in the day, I decided to swing by there again, just to see if maybe these 'hundreds' came back. I drove in .. and didn't see a one. :( But i'm not kidding you ... not a minute later, I looked down the river and saw these 'hundreds' flying towards me down the river. They sound like geese!! I never knew that :) I went nuts with the camera/pic taking. Along the shore line, sat these two Canadian Geese. Both had their bills buried deep within their down feathers, trying to keep warm? Or just taking a nap. I was a stalker, as someone near and dear to me had accused me of being lol and crept up to them a few steps at a time. Each time, the one on the left would lift his head and look up at me, while the other couldn't care less. I got fairly close, till they decided they were outta there .. a human was approaching .. they were taught they could be dangerous creatures. Not sure yet if I have a swan shot worth uploading yet. I'll have to browse through the 100's that I took. I want to dedicate this picture to Piet (Busi2ness). He has proven to be a very good friend; always so eager to help anytime I ask, or when anyone asks! He's a great person; if you haven't seen his work yet, please visit his gallery. He is one great photographer. Be sure to say hi to him too. He'd like that. :) Have a super day! And thanks so much for stopping by... and for any comments you may decide to leave. ~ Shari ~

That's an excellent composition and a great achievement! I can not imagine that I would even take photos in those awkward temperatures, let alone be the stalker of the bay, lol. Thanks for the honor of the dedi Shari, it was a pleasure helping. Fantastic blue color of the water, pleasantly contrasted by the snow in the foreground.
