ever noticed the "shoe-size" of these Meerkoetjes (as they are called in Dutch) it's perhaps the largest foot in the animal kingdom (relatively / compared to body size) In english the name foot would have been better than coot, but coot is pronounced the same way as "koet" in Dutch and as "meer" = lake it is a litterly translation.. I suppose Lakecoot, meerkoet :) Fun image..
Briiliant, How close were you flying to the water to get this photo?!? LOL :@) I don't blame them, would you want to go into this cold water?
Oh yes, very nice capture :)
Lovely shot this is.... Are these "Australian" coots or? cause I was photographing the same birds here in NZ yesterday... Excellent timing in this shot. Thanks for sharing. Hope you are keeping well there.
I'm wishing for spring also, so I kinda know where these birds are goming from. I'm just glad I don't have to go in that water. Great shot.
Great shot...
I've seen those little coots last sunday. Wonderful.
