Description
San Diego Zoo, December 2006
Here is an interesting info. I learned about them while I was at the zoo.
"It is the shellfish and shrimps which flamingos eat which give them their distinctive pink color, otherwise they would be white"
Thank you for viewing

I remember thinking how neat that was when I first heard about it, and wondering if there were any that they fed a non-seafood diet to keep them white. Hrmmm... Very expressive flamingo portrait!
One of the most amazing shot of the Flamingo. I love the colors!
flaBingo!!!!!!
Interesting capture and info, I never knew that!!
Awesome capture, nice POV Stuart
Wowwww, very beautiful picture and fantastic color and close up !!! :)
I heard that in Vegas once, and thought it was a joke. If we are what we eat? Your POV in this fills the frame so well.
Fantastic detail of the eye and the colour is amazing. Very good close up.
Great shot indeed ! As say dBgrafix "we are what we eat" ! But this flamingo have had a particularly great ration of his favorite shrimp "artemia salina" :-)
Great closeup!
Spot on - with a great focus on the eye. Nice crop, too. Imagine we feed the blue cotton candy!
