Description
The sun rose over Taru City, after the nights worth of storms. The rainy season had come early this year. The Flying cities rose up through the clouds to clearer and cleaner air.
The rains swept most of the poisonous spores, and heavy toxic gases out of the higher air, and recontaminated the surface. The first days of the rainy season was hard and even sometimes fatal for weak flatlanders on the surface of Balaam.
The thick, moving clouds hid most of the problems that the Flying cities didn't want to deal with. Unbeknownst to them, a virus floated on the storm tossed breezes up to the level of the flying cities.
It was a present from Aldus Panchetta, to the future as he thought would unfold. The Scavs, the genetically-bred slaves of those on high, would have their inhibitions unraveled as their very genes were rewritten by the retro-virus on the wind.
The future would unfold, but not as any living on Balaam would know to predict.
