You can see another B-Wing pic I made here.
Rendered this last winter, just some of the great looking freebie B-Wings you can get over at vanishing point.
The texture on the close up B-Wing looks a bit choppy, but I think the medium distance ones came out quite well in Poser.

Dear Pete, Super nice job of a sqadron in flight - or actually in orbit - they are way outside the atmosphere. I've always admired the creations of the Star Wars bunch because they remind me a lot of the ships of the golden age of sci-fi. And yet, as an engineer, I wonder what the space craft will REALLY look like? Streamlining is unnecessary - no airfoils - maybe not even any reaction type engines. To truly be star craft, or anthing that attains even a siginificant percentage of the speed of light, they must either be armored like a small asteroid against induced radiation or somehow scoop up or repel stray nuclei from their path. And to attain high speeds quickly, the something has to be done about inertial effects or their occupants will be lsime on the bulkheads. SO - maybe shape sort of disappears as a desing parameter. Maybe they look like the ISS or Voyager for that matter. I doubt that we'd recognize them any more than a middle age serf would recognize my car. Very well done and very thought provoking!
