Description
This is corn stacked the old fashioned way, on an Amish farm in northern Ohio, USA, November of this year.
I see in imagination many things. One is cliques of people together, apart from the others. Then, my heart tells me this is groups, together for support and joy, all in the same field and knowing it well. These will survive the cold to come.
Nature is nothing more than a view, beautiful or not, until we open the eyes inside our spirit. Then, we may see all sorts of wonderful things far beyond the "view".

Tom, I know I am awake far to late :-( A superb capture. The feeling is awesome here. Biblical.. I see a shepherd, and such joy in this image. Beyond beauty, my friend. okay now I sleep. Hugs. Diane
When I lived in Ohio, one of the things I loved most was Saturday drives through Amish country. I remember the Amish cart coming through my neighborhood with produce and how we ran out to look at these odd people. now that I'm older, I find they aren't that odd, just people of the land. This photo is a wonderful reminder of how simple life is when you apply high work standards to survival and how little it takes to make a body feel good and productive.
Where I live no such beauty just rat race. I love this old tradition life! Thanks to share it Tom!
some deep words and a deep image. I like the way the old timers do things.
haha.... I see it as a futuristic Easter Island. A wonderful simple but fun image Tom, I like it!!!
You have explained this well. That makes me look at the photo longer, and see it in different eyes. Good work.
The words struck me so deep - indeed. Very good compostion and I love this scene so well captured, I can still recall seeing this from my childhood memories.
Oh yes, very interesting picture and composition!!! Good day ;)
Bravo Tom yes I like the thoughts too I see a group of people turning their backs away to the modern world that the technology of the digital camera represents..Lets hope that the Amish can carry on with the traditions that make them unique, as well as some of us who are able to get some joy and pleasure from what our lifestyle provides us with..
Nice shot, Tom and very nice commentary as well.
A very well composed and executed shot. Great job! John
Haven't seen corn done like this since I left Pennsylvania 25+ years ago. Definitely brings back memories. We always bought baked goods from the Amish that would make there way past the sites we would camp at each weekend. Nice Capture!!!
