Sorry, it took me some time to upload the magazine cover that was my inspiration. See: "When we were kids."
Note: This is not my artwork. I don't know who the original Artist is. Otherwise, I would give them the credit that was due.

Those were magic times, reading those pulp fantasies as a youth. :) Do try and find out who the origianl artist was.
Ken Fagg was doing work for IF at that time. I would say it also looks like his style but a lot of Science Fiction illustration looked like that so I can't say for sure.
As best as I can tell you followed the design closely. I would love to get my hands on some of these old sci fi mags. I would really love to see some more of your work.
I really wished I had lived back in those days. It seemed like the Science Fiction of the time was so much more interesting in those days.
Up-date the artist was Edward Valigursky. Not Ken Fagg.
