Description
This image is the first image I have uploaded to this website. I've been coming here for years and felt it was time to put something of my own up. This image is also my first real attempt at a complete picture. Up to now, I've only created models of objects and not full scenes.
I modeled this after a 1954 cover of "If" magazine I found on the net. I'll upload the cover for comparison later. I tiled this work "When we were kids." because when we were kids, we dreamt of the day when space travel and working in space would be an everyday thing. Well, I guess we are not there yet. Maybe someday.
I made this 100 present in Bryce 5.5. I don't own a copy of poser at the time this was made so yes, the astronauts in this scene were created from scratch as I do not own a copy of poser or DAZ 3D. I still have some work to do to it. I want to format it like the magazine cover.
I would love to get any of the group minds feedback.
Thanks,
VincentD

Very cool image nice to see your work.
Very cool! Reminds me of those cool and optimistic "spaceships for kids" I had way back when!
Ray Bradbury and Arthur C. Clarke would be proud. Excellent scene layout, modelling and material work.
And very reminicent of the experimental sci-fi films of the day. Nice work and welcome!
COOOOOOOOOOL Very well done :)
Really do like this one, well done!!!!!!!! Someday hope to be this good....
Great retro tribute, wonderfull render ^^
Fantastic render and models!!!Welcome!!!
A delightful retro looking spaceship. Not sure what these astronauts are up to, but it looks like they got their hands full. Very nice.
Great picture! Astronauts from scratch in Bryce? Great job on them too, then.
well done!!
Great job recreating the cover. I'm a bit confused by the transparent quality of the wings but that is way offset by the modelling of the astronauts in Bryce. Also, very nice job with the rope as well. I look forward to your future submissions.
Having seen comparison I'm deeply impressed by your efforts and colouring in espescially a more almost contemporary style .Excellent! :B eaver !
Wow, quite close to the original, this is amazing. Yours obviously is more refined thanks to 50+ years of intervening technology, but you still have that same sense of wonder and exploration. An awsome first post!
Fantastic work! Just the style that I like! Added to my preferred images! BRAVO!
Wow... you did an excellent job with that classic scifi layout... wanna see more from you !!!
A most authentic appearance! (I think the reflection on the stabilizers is okay.) Those vac suits are superb. I'd love to see more of your work. Overall excellent modelling of a terrific 'retro' rocket scene! FIVE STARS
I want to thank all who have and continue to post comments. The response has been great. And coming from people whose work I have looked up to and admired is encouraging. I hope to up-load more soon. Cheers.
Waow I love it ! very nice realisation. good texturing !
