In the lands east of the River Danube, legend tells of a creature called a Taxim. The walking dead, it prowls the Earth solely driven to avenge itself upon those who wronged it in life. Often awakening after internment, it takes a Taxim a great deal of time to build up sufficient supernatural energy to break out of its tomb. It can be many years after burial before a Taxim can return to the world of the living. By that time its flesh and cloths have decayed leaving just bones and the horrid stench of death. A Taxim will relentlessly hunt its victim no matter how far they flee or how long they run. Its rage empowers it with extrodinary strength and blinds it any feeling of pain or pity. Nothing or no one can stand in its way, impossible to appease other than by the tormented shrieks of its dying prey. Happy Halloween.
