Description
After over six years of staring at the same old product box, I've decided that it's high time to give this epic scale product a new look to commemorate the release of the final 100 city blocks.
I was trying to create a "classic" look for this package design, reminiscient of those old skyscraper pictures found in the photo-essays that Life magazine would run. I wanted to keep the established brand identity by retaining color stripes for continuity. At the suggestion of some friends, who noted that the white box looked too cheerful for a product named "Dystopia", I've decided to use a dark grey product box.
Created and rendered in LightWave, including all the product images on the box. The graphics were assembled in CorelDraw and Photoshop, and the mapping was done in UVMapper Classic as a simple mapping exercise. The stone texture is a digital photograph from my own "M

deviney "Dystopia City Blocks" are commercially available in their native LightWave LWO format, the more versatile OBJ format and also in an enhanced edition that is Poser and DAZ|Studio compatible.
The 1950's style monochromatic image of the dense sprawling metropolis and the change of colour scheme really emphasizes the product title. Outstanding!

Love the new packaging Moe, makes me wish you could actually get a physical shipment of the blocks as real model kits (I got into 3D modeling from real world scratch and kit modeling)

Nice work Moe. The colors look very good. A very shiney new package to a proven product, for sure. WHAT IF ... you took the tan and wrapped it around the entire box on all sides? ... Would tie it all together, me thinks (know what I'm saying?)

I LOVE Dystopia. I bought Blocks 1-80 and hope to complete Dystopia, soon. Hope, the missing blocks are ready to order via renderosity immediately - can't wait for it! :)
