Description
I was photo some old cars like the La Salle car you saw with the blue taft on top. I walked right into a big spider web there . I hate spides and when I walked into they web; the more. I looked all over to make sure the spider was not on me. It ran up the web that was left. I saw another spider and I took a photo of it and here it is. It a big banana spider we call it. I do not have the right name.
When I was six years old; my brothers and me was walking in the woods of our new house[new to us. it was two miner camps my dad was putting together] Anyway I walked into a big spider web and I could not get loose. I looked up and saw this gaint spider comeing at me . I gave it all I had and I got free and I ran so fast lol. It looked like those Tarzin movies spiders to me. I know the fear was in me and my little six year old mind grown that spider big but to this day I do not like spiders. I let them live for I know they help kill a lot of bugs that will bite me but I do keep away from them.
thanks for all comments

they had this white taft hangeing to cover up something. I not sure what but I love it behind the spider. The taft is about five to seven feet away in the background
I hate webs even more in the dark. you may beat yourself silly trying yo get rid of it. no idea on the name but an excellent capture
Ewwwwwwww!!!! I thought this was a Poser spider but now I see that it is for real!!! What a cool snap hon!!!
Oh gosh, I'm with Burpee. Your pic has compelled me to take a picture and post it. Hopefully tomorrow. You see I know the good the spiders do also, so I've let one live that spins a web every night from a tree beside my truck. This very morning I forgot about it ran face first into it. eeyooowww! I'm going to capture that monster on film. I ramble. Again your work inspires.
I don't have many spider shots, but I do have one I am saving for Halloween! Nice shot!
I hate spiders.
Cool spider Jock. and a story I can relate well to! Time for spooky, and you done well! ;)
Even your spider is excellent done...(I am not "crazy" for them...but they are around...)! That is a fact!
Oh ICK! You guys and your SPIDERS! I love the way you did this though. It looks really cool with the lighting like this. I just HATE spiders, and I NEVER LET THEM LIVE!! Mmmwaa Haaaaah Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
I like the way the spider seems to be levitating in mid air. Nice work mate:)
If it's black and yellow then, judging from the shape, it's probably a Golden Garden Spider. They range from small to quite large and the big ones make some seriously strong webs . . at least along the Texas coast. Excellent shot here!
A wonderful closeup shot of that strange looking arachnid. Great light and shadow display in this capture. The spider image is sharp as a razor. Super shot, Jocko! Incidentally, if you want to see really huge spiders, rent out the "EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS" movie on DVD. It even has ostriches in it.
I've seen fishing spiders the size of a human hand before, yet they were not as sinister looking as this fine fellow. Brr! [Shivers ] Very spooky shot! FIVE STARS
I agree with Burpee Ewwwwwwww :))
Cool shot jocko i agree with burpee and magikunicorn...ewwwwwwww :o)
Yuck! I hate spiders. ): I think it started when we moved to Texas. We were just kids when we saw a tarantula in our backyard. Ever since then....eeeeewww! Giant pic of an icky spider! lol q-:
I love spiders, except when they get too big! We used to have what we called banana spiders, their bodies were about two inches long sometimes. Great shot, the contrast is good and the background perfect!
Superbly captured Jock!!!
oh yes, fantastic !!! Excellent idea my friend!!! Good day :D
Now thats a spider ! Whatever it is , it is larger than what they have here ,, thank goodness :) I like how the legs form a patterm in a circular direction in this capture . !!~BRAVO~!!
Curious spider, aveec these species of brushes to the extremities of these legs. I never saw some of such in France. Stereotyped beautiful, and of beautiful frights you have to have in your childhood.
I hate spiders but it's a cool shot you have posted here! Excellent Jocko! :)
Love the silhilloette
great story , i saw that tarzan movie too , lol
Oh I hate spiders too. You are a brave man capturing this spider. Excellent. Aloha
I walked into my share of spider webs as well !!! brave capture Jock, well done and I'm glad you didn't kill it, they can be scary but they a lot of good ! ~Cheers~ :o)
Oh what a beautiful spider! They are just adorable and won't hurt you as their natural behaviour when disturbed are to retreat on the web or fall to the ground immediately. The also pick up your movement long before you are near them. The web extends far and wide and you disturb it from afar - normally! They are called orb-web spiders, Nephilia meaning "giants". I photographed them so close that on several occasions she got onto the camera and never harmed me.
I don't like spiders but the photo looks great! Excellent!
Gross!
Oh that's a real strange looking spider with those so special looking legs! What a splendid spider portrait with this fabulous light and contrast here! Bravo!!!
