Description
"Contradictions of perspective. Contrasts of light. Contrasts of form. Points of view impossible to achieve in drawing and painting. Foreshortenings with a strong distortion of the objects, with a crude handling of matter. Moments altogether new, never seen before ...compositions whose boldness outstrips the imagination of painters... Then the creation of those instants which do not exist, contrived by means of photomontage. The negative transmits altogether new stimuli to the sentient mind and eye." ~ Alexander Rodchenko
Digimon mentioned Mothra yesterday. Well, here is a view of a real moth, looking photographed from below looking skyward. It was perched underneath an Angel Trumpet blossom. You can see another image of this moth HERE. ----- Melanchroia chephise - White-tipped Black - Hodges#6616 Other Common Names larva known as Snowbush Spanworm Synonyms and other taxonomic changes spelled "Melanochroia chephise" on a number of web sites; a misspelling? Identification The adult's white-tipped black wings are distinctive. Range Florida and Texas, south to Paraguay Habitat dry habitats where the foodplant grows Food larvae feed on plants in the spurge family (Euphorbiaceae) such as Breynia and Phyllanthus species ----- Thank you for your cocky comments on my last upload, Seeing Eye To Eye.

Gorgeous detail!! Love the feathery edges on the wings! As well as the crsipness of the antenae!!!
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW!!!! A MOTH!!!! And an exceptionally hairy one as well. Soooooo disgusting!!!!!! Dont get me wrong though...your macro i just superb. Crisp and clear. But man oh man does that insect creep me out or what. I gotta say though....this particular moth is way more pleasing for the eyes than the nasty moths we get here. Very impressive shot once again....however...ive never been a huge fan of textured frames. #;o) Have a wonderful day!
Captured the details very nicely. Definitely an illusion of depth. Liked the words too:) Excellent!
Rotfl!!! I bet he does ;) Excellent!
This has got to be one of the most crispiest macros ever taken of a moth. Well done buddy! Love the detail on those antennae. I disagree with Zacko about the "eew" factor of moths (love the little bastards myself, so cute) but sort of agree with him about the frame. Your usual solid black with a single-pixel-wide gold border would work better for this one. However, frames aren't very important.
Amazing feelers! I must agree with Andreas that it's not a cute animal, but it's a great macro! Bravo!!!
You got me laughing! The title and the image together are marvelous. This photo is excellent and very different pov from most similar shots. Excellent all around.
The details are outstanding. A fantastic macro indeed!!!
Breathtaking clarity, the terrific details and the stunning focus!! Fantastic!!
Superb, and informative! Bravo!
Wow ! Beautiful one !!! ;)
WOOOOWW look at the feelers - looks so fluffy, like feathers on his head!!! So amazing!! Love the fact that this moth is black!!! Marvellous! 8;-)

OMG, where do you find these creatures? The Black Knight!!! Just look at the elegant antennae!!! Aren't they ostrich feathers? And the fringed wings! Fantabulous macro colors, contrast and POV!
OMG!!!!!!!!!! That is one of the most interesting POVs i've seen with that interesting FOCUSSSSSSSSS!!! Very well done Kort! I really do love the details on the wing and the dreamy/soft DOF!! Thank you and have a nice day JOE

Man I never seen this type before...quite an interesting moth, love the little antenae....this one must catch cable with those things....Another great one for your gallery! Aloha!
Good Reception? Can you hear me now? Excellent capture. Aloha
What a splendid macro shot and and what a fabulous contrast here! Glorious butterfly portrait! Bravo!!!
Excellent macro and very creative way in bringing out the contrasting colours.
Might do a little better with a parabolic reflector, but that's probably not bad for a phased array! :] Super macro (again)!
