Description
captured last Sunday (October 8th) in Rulles (South Belgium), on a clump of Aster flowers

The peacock (Inachis io) is indeed one of the last butterflies to be seen around in the fall season, as also proven by the many excellent macros of this colorful butty uploaded these last days :
" Catch by the sun" by vlaaitje.

Fantastic capture...I just went out today and have taken pics of a very similar one...but they are still " in my camera!" Great...LG Carmigo
ravissant !
WOW I really like the wide and then close-up shot of the butties!!! Awesome pair!! Well done. 8:-)
Surprise, surprise ! ces rencontres lors des derniers jours de soleil ! Les papillons gardent tout leur lat, contrairement aux bouquets fleuris !
Oh wow, just so pretty.
It sure seems like the Peacock-butty is more resistant to the cold than other butties seeing how they usually are the last one to go. Must be all that fur they have on their body....keeping them warm and cousy. Beautiful capture! I would have loved to see that close-up on its own or at least share the same size as the other shot though. Have a great one. #:o)
Beautyfull image. Makes me a little sad, because i miss the Summer. LOL Excellent!!!
Beautiful butty. Excellent shot.... Aloha
Salut Michel, encore un calvaire ce soir celdevient de plus en plus lent! penses tu que c'est vraiment le dernier papillon, le beau temps a l'air de vouloir revenir, c'est presque l" a plus
