Description
Actually, I saw a thumbnail of this setting in a recent mailing and thought I'd use my own Viper to emulate that excellent scene. I don't even know what software the original is done in. However, the reason I am posting this is that this viper is now part of a LW BSG Fan Movie. Note in the additional models credits: PIXELTEK - that's me :-0. Most of you also know Fabio.

OK, ok! I can handle it. Now as a down-and-dirty repost.

cool pic.
I always love to see the one, true, original Battlestar Galactica still in the hearts of fans. :) I've got to check out your site. Make sure to advertise it to www.battlestargalactica.com, as new content there is always welcome. ;) Ken Thomson
Thanks both. Raymar3d, while I appreciate and support the afficionadoes of the classic BSG series, I also like the new one. Got to move forward with time, philosophy, and technology. That's, IMO, what hurt Star Wars (and Star Trek, the latter with Enterprise). I would have preferred had Mr. Lucas gone forward and used all of that new and dazzling 3d tech to make E7-9 instead of struggling to go retro, without really doing so, by trying to recreate the 'touch and feel' of something that happend prior to E's 4,5,6 with excruciating detail. I mean little Anakin, for one. Who cares? But that's just my own feeling. But let's hear if for the amazing fan films, such as this one, or Star Wars 'Revelation' and many more. They are done with love, skill, and great 3d tech, the latter once the sole territory of deep pocket studios. Which is why all of us are here nowadays. It's all good.
Looks wonderfull with them zipping across space, nice job ^^
Cool pick I like the ethrustor trails.
This is really cool, but I'd love to see one dirtied up and worn. would be sweet. maybe even some burn marks on it or damage.
Excellent image, and the trailer is fantastic ! I should have known it was Lightwave. You should see the Galactica !
Marvelous composition !!! That light and colors coming in is just spectacular !!! Beautiful work !!! Have an awesome day !!! ~~*****~~()~~
Great tribute and space scene, I agree with steve04 though, the Red paint is weathered but the main hull is clean, maybe a touch of fractal noise stretched in the z axis to better match the Red paint FX ? just a suggestion, kool stuff, also I really dig the T.V. shows special FX. ~Cheers~ :o)
I just watched the last episode of season two of thje new series on DVD so this image is specially relevant - great work - fine detail.
Another edit, to meet the general and reasonable request for 'grime'. It does look much better this way.
