Description

This is an updated version of the first piece I ever did in Poser and Bryce back in 2004. I always liked the simplicity of this piece but back then I was still pretty clueless about using bump maps right and in the original I tried doing the mane and tail with Poser's Dynamic Hair deal not that successfully. So anyway I always wanted to fix this guy up right. The horse is performing (sans tack and long lines) what is known as a "capriole" - it is a high school "airs above the ground" movement performed by the Lippizans of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna in particular. It is very beautiful to see performed and I tried to capture it's essence here. I did his tail in the traditonal (but boringly named!:) "mudknot", used to keep the tail from tangling in the longlines during the movement. Hope you enoy! Daz Mil Horse Bundle posed and morphed in Poser 5, imported into Bryce 5, mats applied and rendered there. The flowers are Daz LB Zinnias. Mane and tail postworked in Photoshop with Ravenheart's great Heavenly Hair. Completion date: 9/11/2006

I see that you know your equine anatomy! The pose is very natural, yet exceptionally artistic. I find the simplicity of the image quite striking.
