Lilia (my motorcycle featured in previous posts)broke down three times during my trip to Sturgis.... each time she saved my life: 1) Alabama - throttle cable- broke while we were parked trying to wake up... if she broke on the road, it would have been the equivalent of slamming on my breaks at 70 mph 2) Oklahoma - shifter rod - broke while the temperature was 110 degrees. I drank two bottles of Gatorade and two bottles of water waiting for the tow company... if I had stayed on the road I might have passed out from the heat before I realized anything was wrong 3) Texas - electrical short - her whole electrical system broke down and the mechanic had a very hard time finding it. Saturday it was finally ready, but they closed before I could go pick her up... I was on I-45 and at NASA Rd 1 that afternoon and a woman decided to stop in the middle of traffic and caused a seven car pile-up... I was car #3. If I was on Lilia, I'd be dead or severely injured.. I've already started on customizing her.
