Thanks for the comments, yep, this is ambient occlusion, hdr plus one spot with caustics enabled, the caustics doesn't really show up on the rough wooden surface but it makes the gems much brighter and gives them a bit of an inner glow.
FABULOUS!! Love the design and shaders. The jems are real beauties, and the hdr brings out the metal work a treat.
