ABOUT ROBINSON CRUSOE ON MARS MOVIE
Robinson Crusoe on Mars is a 1964 science fiction film retelling of the classic novel by Daniel Defoe. It was directed by Byron Haskin, produced by Aubrey Schenck and starred Paul Mantee, Victor Lundin and Adam West.
Many of the Mars scenes were filmed in Death Valley, California, at Zabriskie Point.
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The mesh of the Robinson Crusoe on Mars spaceship, the Mars Gravity Probe, was one of the oldest 3D mesh that I had downloaded from the web. It was made by Patrick Anthony Burns, and it was made on 1997 in 3ds.
The design of this 1964 ship was really great, and finally, after many years of darkness (in my hard disc) I resurrect it in this render.

Looks pretty cool I don't recall seeing the film.
Wonderful work! One of the things unique to that film was how fast everything moved in relation to the camera's point of view (most films stick with the spaceship and thus make it appear motionless). Now I can finally appreciate the MGP-1 design!

I saw this movie on a B&W TV, I remember some scenes, they extract oxygen from stones ! But I don't remember the ship, too old for my poor memory... nice model anyway

Gad..I've seen this probably about 14 times..;) just kept showing up on late-night TV a lot (actually, I first saw this as a kid in a drive-in theatre in El Paso..as the theatrical release..;) dang, now I want to model the equipment kits..;) I think Adam West dies fairly early in the movie, unless he was the sole survivor.. "A voice from Mars!"..;) great work on the modeling and texturing..now where's that monkey?..;)

Truly excellent Duo, A fine dedication to a movie all us sci-fi buffs hold dearly to the heart , it's a shame its on at 3:00 in the morning when ever it is being shown.
Jeez but I was glad to ger rid of the so-and-so. Always moaning about not having enough O2, or having no food. And them aliens were just as bad. Still, it's quieter now; I only have to clear up after those stupid landers those Earthies keep pelting me with. Great render, great model, nice pic of my home planet.5

You have clearly plucked the heartstrings of a few hardened scifi enthusiasts, me amongst them. It was about the only reasonably realistic bit of sci-fi film of its time. Excellent tribute.
Wow, now this is a real blast from the past. I used to pretend I was Paul Mantee'e character from the movie in the undeveloped area of my neighborhood when I was a kid.
