Description
Back when I was a kid, in the 50s, my grandparents owned an old apartment building in downtown San Diego. The tallest building was a bank, at about fifteen stories. Now you can't even see it, because of the skyscrapers. I spent summer days there while my mom worked crosstown.
One of my fondest memories was spending quality time on the roof. Morningglories grew up the side of the building and I'd take the flowers and drop them over the side, watching them twirl down like parachutes.
Of course now, you would never let a 7 year old kid up on the roof alone, because they'd jump, fall, get pushed by drug dealers, shot by gangmembers, or kidnapped by a child molester. I think my grandfather probably just told me to be careful and don't do anything stupid and I obeyed him because it made sense.

Awesome I did some POV like that couple yeasr ago Was FUN Love it
The trouble we used to get into.
Cool pic. It's a shame the world is not so simple anymore.
Before I scolled down and saw the rest of your picture I thought, Frogger! If you have never played that game, it's a little frog dashing acroos the stret avoiding cars. This is showing my age :-) I love this picture, and all of the ones you do. I always feel SOMETHING (even if it's just confusion LOL) looking at your art!
I do the same too!! Except that we use strips of paper and tear it so it twirls when it catches the wind. Its one of those little things that you play when you grew up in a apartment building with a balcony...:) good times and thank you!
I knew you never grew up... we used the little oak-wing "helicopters" alot. Did you ever build a nice Revell plastic model - and then blow it up?
Love the way your images and verse blend seamlessly into an experience!..feel like I was there! Lemon... I still toss up the oak seed copter once in awhile myself. Water balloons at 15 stories would have been my weapons of choice...HEHE
Oh man, I would have loved to have been able to do that as a kid. Looks like a lot of fun. Closest I came to that was parachuting cats out of my cousin's barnloft.
Cool! Nostalgiac, especially with your commentary taken into account, with a great POV.
Amazing camera view....wonderful image Dave. I too played on top of our apartment building as a child, amazing how we survied... (=
Great idea and excellent POV
