I really like this. I like the way that you broke all of the traditional lighting rules. It makes for a strong and mysterious composition.

I like the image, and the unconventional lighting...but did you scan this in? Looks like the scanner needs a bit of a dust and clean! If it's meant to be like that, ignore what I said Misha! ;-)>

these are the kind of portraits i love...what i'm striving to do right now with my self-portraits. I want to really focus on lighting or lack of lighting to make some expressive shots. This is full of darkness and shadows, mystery, as well as a sense of loneliness. perhaps not...perhaps she's just daydreaming or meditating. I can relate to this. i used to dance down in a basement all alone, twirling, spinning, leaping to an audience of spiders spinning their webs. i guess i just projected my own memories into your image. or maybe she was doing the same....The scratches or dust or whatever that is in the image...well i wouldn't change it for the world. it speaks volumes to me personally. the basement i danced in was dusty, and the mood you've created with this magnificent lighting and whatever else you did, well...it's absolutely perfect!!! i guess it's too late to vote, but i add it to my favs!
