Description
This is my first pinting I did in about a year. Done with acrylic on canve. I know about the upper left part is chew up. I had a bird and he chew it up. I use this anyway thinking i just play around with the paint "Most likely will not be good anyway. My son saw it and say this is better that the computor stuff I made and some others say that too. LOL.
What you all think about it???
I took the painting outside and lay it on the ground and shot the painting. I was going to cut away the dead grass but then looked at it and say "that be a good fram" I do not fram most of my images as you know. What you think of the fram???
I know some people do not like to look at images like this. Sorry, but it was in my head; so I made it. We all think of life and death at times. But if we faceing death sickens we do not wish to be reminded. I know many memebers here is in that boat. I do not know why I do these type of images. Ask other artists or yourselfs why you do the images you do?
I know i think in surreal. I see in surreal. That is my nature. I can not change. I hope I nice to people but somethimes I not. THAT LIFE. I have to repent for been bad at times. And that the diff between a lot of people; they do not repent. Let the preacher say the rest.
Thanks for looking and comments
p.s. I just bought some oils paint to see the diff between the two paints

this is as close to the colors as I can get on the painting
who is after who? is she trying to pull the skeleton out or vice versa?it is good painting and good you chose to post
This is indeed surrealistic, jocko. What's more, it makes me think: What is really important in life? What should I learn to appreciate more? The meeting between life and death here is very appropriately framed by the dead grass. I like that, not only visually, but symbolically. That which was once living... "Let the preacher say the rest." AMEN.
This looks a lot like you computer work. An interesting theme that has a lot of time for exploration, at least we hope. I thought the grass was a frame before I read your comments, great idea!
I'm truly impressed Jocko! I was never any good at painting with acrylics! like painting with glue! This is awesome!!
Wow...Great painting. I was actually told by one of my Art teachers that I didn't know how to control my paint!!! Maybe she was refering to that fact that there was more paint on me then on the canvas! All in all this is really amazing!! Excellent Job +++ I am always impressed by artist who can paint, especially this well.
Terrific Jock. I keep feeling more and more unworthy of art thing. Look at you. So full of multi-talentts. I don't covet the talent. That was God's to give out. You use them to love your neighbor. I'm living in good times and have food in my belly so I won't complain, much.
Cool painting.....excellent done!!!
Nice colors in this abstract concept. I wish I could appreciate this method of painting, but as a fine detail technical illustrator kind of a guy, I would never tackle this genre of art. I like acrylics and oil paintings but they are beyond my control and dexterity. Thank heaven I have computer programs like Photoshop, Bryce and Poser to bail me out. Although somewhat difficult to learn at first, they are much easier to work with than acrylics.
Wonderful work !
I personally like this pose and the dead vs alive factor. The pose is very captivating, and I have like 8 birds, I know the problem with them eating things lol :-)
I really like it a lot Jock! Awesome work! (:
Hey Jock, you're pretty handy with a brush mate!!! I think my acrylics have set hard in their tubes it's been that long since I used them!!!! LOL
Wow..cool painting Jocko! love how you did this one..Excellently done! :)
I like the symbolic system of this table. The unknown is between the life and death. The unknown is a pit, because it is impossible for us to define his border. A thing is sure, a painted table has much more life, than an automated work, if beautiful is it. Art is the Life. Painting with the brush too. Daring!
Great Jock, now try the oils ! surreal...yup, symbolic...yup...kool...yup ! Cheers
This is cool!! I like it alot!! I don't mind seeing dead pictures one day I'll be there too.........lol. I think your a wonderful painter! You got more paintings to show us?? I also think the frame suits it perfect!!
If you shoot at your paintings, no wonder there are dead people in it afterwards.
You did an excellent job painting. Aloha
Fabulous how you handle your painting! It's a fascinating scene with a slightly scary looking atmosphere! Bravo!!!
wow what an excellent surreal painting, looks wonderful*****
I love how her face has no identity.
I LIKE AND I AM HAPPY TO SEE THIS ! that's great that you paint too =and share with us your ideas, and here we have super natural frame ! ;-)
I think it is very cool work my friend
One can tell the woman is yearning for something, yet the bone person seems to be mocking her. I suppose he is off to dance a dead rose dance with his true love? Great imagery!
Wonderful painting !! I like the way you captured the painting :) The grass adds a wonderful frame ! In your painting though, I like the way you express how close the woman is to death. I think as we get older , we see it quite frequently. Expressive and well done :D !!~BRAVO~!!
Excellent! Wonderful color contrasts. Those columns really make the image come to life. The frame is cool too! Great job, Jock! I want to see what you do with oils.
Far our Jock! Keep the distance! ;)
Awesome .... !!!!
