Description
Lilium humboldti ocellatum or "Spotted Humboldt Lily"-- one of the 500+ California Native plants in our garden.

Thanks.. those spots is actually how you tell the difference between the regular Humboldt and the spotted. Both are spotted but this species has the watercolored looking spots. It grows in the spring to 4'-6' from a single stalk, flowers in June and dies back in summer. It's a riparian plant (liking streambanks, under oaks, shaded places) and is endemic to Southern California. It also is on the CNPS Watch List; Rating 4.2 (LIST 4: Limited distribution. 0.2: Fairly endangered in California)
