Description
This odd flower is called Beebalm and the bees love it! I think it is related to the mint plant because it has a square stem. (That's what my mom said, anyhow...)
Thanks for the critique on my last upload. The thoughts & ideas that you had were wonderful. There were so many things I hadn't thought of. THAT is what I am looking for! Keep 'em coming.
HUGS!

P.S. Regarding Andreas's & Geert's comments. Here I am editing and not sure WHY the notes didn't appear! Maybe it's the same reason nobody was getting my eBots. :-( Let's try again...

Super macro, Jodie. It's hard to get these little fellas to hold still long enough for a portrait!
Another beauty-and the detail is marvelous.
No notes? NO NOTES???? JODIEEEEEEEE!!!! Arent ya gonna tell us to be painfully honest with you or did my misinterpretation of the sign put you off? LOL. #:oP I agree with my previous commentators, that its a most beautiful macro indeed. They are sooooo fast, and sooooo busy that i have yet to capture one half this good. And belive me...i have tried, lol. Love the depth as well. Just perfect! Have a great weekend Jodie! #:O)
Jodie, there must be something wrong: no notes and the image statistics are missing...? Hope it's just temporary. Anyway, you captured and composed this really well, and perfectly balanced. Sharpnes and DOF are excellent. Maybe a bit more contrast or darkness in the background greens would make it even better...
Another beauty Macro!!!Splendid!!!Brava!V:DDD.Hugsxx
Ok, I'm not much of a botanist, but some people plant mint because it tends to repel certain insect pests. So it's really interesting that the bees find this variety irresitible. It's quite beautiful tho, and you've done a wonderful job of capturing the bloom and its visitor. Love the DOF in this shot.
lovely balance...the bee and the colours..well seen
Very nice macro!!! I love the colors!!! Bravo!!!
Wonderfully clear shot of a beautiful flower and a bug I'd rather see in a picture than in real life! lol....Good job!
WHAT a beautiful marco !! awesome shot love how he is curving up and around!! excellent jodie!...
Excellent composition and colours! I loke the almost sideway angle on the bee.
beautiful macro
Yup, just an old garden variety honeybee (or maybe the Africanized version - ouch!), busily doing whatever nature had intended it to do. Nice macro capture and colors/colours, especially the Beebalm violets. And another fine blurred background for contrast. Harry the Hugger
