I agree, no one application does it all, each has it's strengths and weakness's.
The experiments are still cooking in the lab, but here is one simple example of how lighting in Bryce is infinately more controllable than in Poser.

and here I doing things in a photoshop type program[Mcirosoft digital image pro9] it not as smooth as this but then I working with photos
I'm happy if I can get the Poser lights to just point generally in the direction I want them. But I still like Vue better than Bryce. :-P ducks and runs

Multi apps slut as well, though it's Poser/Phtooshop for me, with occasionally modeling in whatever I can get my grubby mits on. For me, it's all about the workflow - whatever works to make the picture you want work. :D

This really is awesome !!! I am amazed that you did this in Bryce. It is a great example of lighting in Bryce, which I must say I do like. I am mesmerized by this animation. This one is very calming and lovely. I find I am going to sleep as I type this good nite. .......... LOL !! Truly superb !!!!!
