Description
This relic - from an era gone by (circa mid 1880's) - was found on the wall of an old sawmill that has been converted into a music hall in the tiny community of Damacus, Virginia.
I believe this telephone was made by the American Telephone & Telegraph Company (AT&T), though I am not certain, as the information about the make and model of this telephone was located on the back of the unit, which was afixed to (and facing) the wall.
You can read more on the history of AT&T at: http://www.att.com/history/
