Description

"trapped, i'm trapped what did i do to deserve this? i've painted myself into a corner what did i do to deserve this? painted myself into a corner no windows, doors or a ladder trapped, i'm trapped" ~ select lyrics from Trapped by The Circle Jerks

Please, it is a wide image, but view at full resolution for maximum impact. Click on "zoom in" if you don't already have your preferences set that way. I almost went with the title, "And Carbonite For All...," but decided to stick with the more direct approach. The sculptor of this amazing installation is Reuben Hale and its title is Progression. Follow the link to see the full installation. ----- Thank you for your lush comments on my last upload, Jungle Lifeforms.

It might be anothers work but you have made it come alive..impressive light work here Kort, I am truly amazed. Can't help you with the artist tho-. As for your rant, I think you hit it on the head...Post images that make you happy, if you get comments,... others agree...if not stop crying!! It's a daunting task as it is to try and post something everyday much less try and comment each day. I'm quite bad at posting comments right away, my life gets in the way as it does for others. But I try as we all do, to catch up when we can...Hounding people for comments is just wrong...Kort nailed it on the head "Get a Life!! Aloha~

I can understand your friend's frustration. Time is so little and extra emails can get a bit overwhelming. As for your picture, I'd say it would make a good subject for debate for the copyright forum. In my personal opinion, it's VERY close to a copyright infringement, unless of course you have permission to take the photo and derive your artwork from it. Just my two cents worth, keep the change!

whatever... the photo is just wonderful i.e. you can easily visualize the object to five enough food to your imagination

@ fuzzy -- Well, it was artwork in a public place. I have seen other artists take more liberties with others work than this. I appreciate the comment though.

WOW beautifully captured!!! People hound other members for comments? Novel idea but I'd rather have comments that come from the heart than forced JMHO

1 I love the picture. 2. I see no copyright problem - especially if it is publicly displayed. 3. how refreshing it is to see some non-hysterical common-sense on RR, thanks kort.

Publically displayed?....Nuff said I typically accumulate 10% of comments per UL, I'm more than thrilled with that number. If my creations inspire at least one person, that's enough. If not...Hey, I have plenty more where that came from....Muhahaa. (hehe) Super post Kort, this would be an interesting project to try and emmulate in 2D/3D. Thanks for the inspiration Pal!!

Great photo man, and I totally agree with your sentiment -- any "friend" who calls you (I say "you" figuritively speaking) a bad person because you forgot to comment is more of a troll than a friend. I'm pretty sure I know who you're talking about and my support is with him.

Two fine works of art, IMO just give the sculpter credit when you find his name. I've never heard anyone being hounded for comments, but there you go, you learn something new every day ! shame, shame, shame, 'nuff said ! Cheers

Great shot and very to the point of your comments. Comments? I take what is given; I want no comment unless freely and honestly given by the poster. Then, I live with my talent and images and try to improve and change directions. This will help or hurt on "comments" but is my work and that is the bottom line. Great shot and post.

I am curious about the medium, which looks to be plaster or perhaps plastic. An impressive capture of an impressive sculpture. And thank you for saying what needed to be said!

Superbly presented - I don't know the artist or the work - the presentation and postwork makes it your image in my book. AS for the sentiments in your write up I agree 100+%

Thank you for sharing your photo of this amazing piece of art. But for you I'd probably never see it. It's sad to hear about your friend's frustration. Personally, I'd rather have 1 or 2 unsolicited sincere comments than 20 solicited comments.

I don't know who the original Artist is, but it is a most Intrigueing Image. Sort of reminds me of the office scene and wall in the movie " The Devils Advocate" with Al Pacino & Keano Reaves. You also could have used David Gilmores' " Theres No Way Out of Here" for song lyrics. You always add your Flair twopynts no fear of that.

Firstly, let me say this image is brilliant.I love the lighting and the gorgeous gradiated color. You did a beautiful job capturing this relief...and how very appropriate for your notes and title! The image and your words make for one powerful and impressive upload.Bravo,Kort...As for your notes, eloquently stated,my friend. However,I would bet the very individuals this is addressed to,ironically will never see themselves. They'll think it's directed at someone else and that they are the exception.Just my hunch...Anyway,you've said it all,and wonderfully, and I'll bet your friend is most appreciative of the support. You're a good guy,Kort.Have a fabulous weekend!-M :^)
