A beautiful young maiden, alone with her faithful horse, longs for her just-departed lover, who's gone off to fight for his country's ruler.....she wonders, "When will he return?"

This is a lovely pic.
I love the pose on this one =) super nice! (posing is an art unto itself 4-sure S*) one suggestion - you didn't say what kind of program you use to do post work - but you might want to use a blend tool in your program to blend the edges (outlines) of your characters, and also sharp shadows - like where the horses belly suddenly goes into shadow? places like that..it softens everything and helps to make your characters blend more with the background. overall i really like this picture very much- i like the way the girl is positioned to the right of the center too - it adds interest and draws your eye.
Sprryte, thanks a bunch for the suggestion about softening the shadows! That didn't occur to me when I was working on the image. It's great to have others offer ideas like yours for improvement cuz that's how we grow creatively. Much appreciated! :-)
