Description
Sorry for the long absence, I have been pretty busy. I did find time to go watch the launch of the Space Shuttle Discovery for the 4th of July. :-) I was born and raised in Florida but this was the first time for me to witness a shuttle launch live. It was an awesome site and sound!! I know this shot really shows the limitations of my camera but I just had to share this! Hope everyone is doing well! Thank you for your much appreciated comments!
Have a terrific evening!
Wendy

What a fireworks show! I bet it was awesume. I would love to go see a launch live and in person myself one day. Very cool shot.
I beg to disagree with you about the lack of quality. it does show the launch very well with excellent detail. thanks so much for posting. the closest I have been to a flight was when the shuttle blew up over Texas and something I will never forget
Great shot of a great event!
Goooooooooooooooo,,,,,,,,,,............
Fantastic shot, would have been great to be there but even better to be a passenger, have a great week:):):)
now that some roaket you shot , super looking
Thanx for this shot, fantastic POV.
Oh that is the coolest!! Thanks for sharing the shot!
Wonderful photo Windy! You captured amazing detail! I'm so glad you got to experience the sound and feel of a live launch. There's nothing like it! Your photo reminds me of one I shot from almost the same angle of the very first STS when the main tank was painted white.
Not a photo guy{well, aren't we all?},but I will agree with your critique, large file size and no postwork{I,m guessing} might do that...still a mighty shot...what a privelage to be there, thanx for sharing...seen enough MSNBC shots, yours brings a more personal approach!
Man what a shot....I would love to have been there to experience this launch...consider yourself one of the lucky ones...Thanks for sharing Wendy! Aloha!
oh wow!! how lucky you are to live by the space shuttle take off how amazing it must hafve been to see this in person !!! lol i live on the other end where it comes in when it comes in there are streaks in the sky of many colors and feels like an earthquake hoping it will land here at Edwards again so i can get shots of it from this side here in southern cal!.. wonderful to see this !!
Great shot and the perfect firework! We were cheering down here in Texas at JSC, too!
very cool
Excellent capture of the white plume, wish I could witness this! Envy!

Super shot Wendy.
fantastique vue tres belle image bravo
What a great shot. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic shot!!!!! fenomeno :)
Woah! awesome shot! good thing it was a dud firework (didn't explode).
The shot may not be the best ever taken but it gives a nice personal touch to an amazing moment. To have been there would have been awsome and thanks for sharing the personal experience. I cannot believe that none of the regular television networks broadcast the event live. They interrupt programs to bring us such crap as the O.J. Bronco chase or similar crap, but don't think such thrilling and important events as sending people into space, worthy of interrupting the "soaps", lol.
I agree, the best fireworks ever. It was too far away for me to go see, so I'm glad you got a shot of it. Terrific job, I think you did great!
OMG WINDEY!!!! this is so amazing and superbe piece.. Love the capture and the contrast on the smoke :) Happy fourth of July to you too honey.. And here is 5/5 from me for this super wonderful piece.. Hugs JOE
Lucky you! I'm sooooo jealous. We were there last week, well in KSC, it must be the most awe-inspiring thing to see. Imagine sitting inside it! I love the way you can still see the fuel tanks, especially when you zoom in.
Now there is something to treasure. Excellent
I lived in Orlando as a child, and I remember seeing the rocket launches to the southeast on a regular basis. Must have been awesome watching this! Wonderful shot Wendy!
This is sooooo cool Wendy .. love this picture .. I would blow it up as big as possible and hang it on my wall.
