Description

This image was created for a 2 part tutorial for Imagine FX magazine, which aims to show how it is possible to model and texture a ship (relatively easily) in the style of Chris Foss - a well known and influential sci-fi airbrush artist. Modeled, textured and rendered in C4D9.6, with clouds added in Photoshop. Cheers :)

Great work! I have been a fan of Chris Foss from childhood (his being the first of many Sci-Fi art books I bought). The great thing is that you have caught the Foss feel but kept it original too. regards MAT

Great, nice done, that's remember me the SF books covers in "j'ai lu" french edition. I know also Elson and Moore but Foss is the master.

I got the mag the other day and was gutted that the textures weren't included LMAO! Top work on the model though mate. When you look at it in detail it really is such a simple model but it works so well with those simple Foss like textures.

This is....gorgeous...what sci-fi art should be...evokes the desire: "I wanna go out THERE(in that)". Great work!

also this style resembles an artist called Peter Elson circa 1979-Chris has admitted he was a huge fan, as am I. check out Starquest series by steven caldwell cresent books. Nonetheless this is cool.

Thanks guys, the issue is out now!. I am also a fan of Peter Elson - I have the Caldwell books and also one called Spacewreck which features more of his work. Minty - the textures are in the next issue! :) - but as you pointed out, the model is incredibly simple, as are the textures really - they needed to be for tutorials aimed at beginners in C4D.
