Description
I do not know anything about this particular beetle, other than it played dead when I moved it around, drawing its legs in toward its body?
Perhaps you know what type it is? If so, please share!
Thanks for looking, have a fantastic day!

a detail who give a lot of chance in the life, in Egypte country.... Excellent composition color and very good lighting... Good day and kiss my heart ;)
I think it's a scarab beetle...I see them here all the time...purty little critters aren't they XOX
Pretty? Vibrant!! It's still a durned bug. Didn't your mother teach you to leave things alone if you didn't know what they are? LOL!! Great macro, and yes, pretty bug!!! HUGS!!!
We have similar coloured beatles here on Vancouver Island, though they are more elongated than your friend here. The metallic tones are amazing, aren't they. Its looks like it came from a sci-fi movie. Great Macro.
I believe this is the "Chleratopsis versatulosa" beetle Troy - this word comes from the Latin for 'shiny bug we like to poke with sticks.' hahaha - Gotcha, kind of sounded official didn't I? +++
Ask ENMOS...he'll know. :) Or Papa Guru. They are bug experts! :) VOTE
