Description
Last picture from White Sands. Ok, not really from, but at least of White Sands. This was taken from the east side of the valley, at about 5,000 feet, looking back at all that whiteness. There's no way to get it all into one picture; the National Monument is about 275 square miles (712 sq km), and it's long and skinny rather than nice and rectangular so I could fit it all into one frame.
Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed my photos and information as much as I've enjoyed sharing it.
Comments welcome, as always.

This has been a great series and I hate to see it end. I learned a lot and enjoyed seeing the white sand with its flowers and friendly lizard.
This is beautiful. The White Sands are so reflective that it must be hard to photograph them. Loved the little lizard and the flowers. HUGS!!
Wonderful overview over this stretched are of sands! Incredible to imagine the size of it! Am I wrong or is this image slightly slanting? Terrific work, Dennis, love to see it from here!
The white sands look like waves on the shallow ocean beach. The mountains are like a storm brewing. Beautiful image.:)
You must be going up the road to Cloudcroft. I used to live in Alamogordo. Too hot there for me!
