Description
Taken at the ruins of the Bayon (also known as Angkhor Thom). There are approximately 1.2 kilometers of bas relief carved into the sandstone walls. File size restrictions obviously prevent me from posting all of them, so here are a few interesting details.
Temple rubbings are no longer allowed here. You're not even allowed to touch these carvings anymore as the collective effect might erode the details.

Thank you for another terrific art/history upload. I have said befoe, and I repeat, you are very fortunate to be able to view beautiful art up close and personal. I dont know what I enjoy more, your photographs or your artistic work ... Are there any air museums in your exploration area? Perhaps old rusty airplanes are dull compared to architecture and landscape but I am curious about their history during the 1930s/1940s.
Amazing it has survived this long and the quality of the craftsmanship demonstrates how advanced a civilisation they were.
Every time i see a wall similar to this all i think about is texturing lol, takes half the fun away from weekendtrips
Wonderful details, indeed, it would be a great loss of this ancient strip-story to get lost by the accumulating erosion caused by tourists. Gorgeous work!

Amazing! There must be some incredible stories contained within those 1.2 Km. I'd hope flash photography is discouraged as well. Thank you for sharing this my friend, if you spot any convincing depictions of ancient spacecraft (like those found in ancient Hindu sites) please be sure to post them! :0)
