Hi folks.Just some useless trivia I found when scouring the net for non-existent heron quotes, lol.I didn't know these things,so I guessed some of you might not know them, either. Now you can delight your friends and family with your brand new info!I mean, who knew turtles could breathe that way?Wow.Gives new meaning to bad breath, lol.
By the way, that's what I think this guy is,a heron...although I wouldn't put money on it.I'm no ornithologist,I assure you.
The shot was taken at Morikami gardens in Florida. The water was quite brown and murky,so I had to darken it.What a difference that made.A year ago,I didn't know how to do that, and I almost scrapped the shot.Guess it's good to be a packrat, occasionally.I can't seem to scrap any pictures unless they're blurry.Anyway,I think it came out okay,so I thought I'd share it with you.Hope you like it,too.
Thanks for looking and for any comments you care to leave.I always appreciate them.
Have a wonderful day/evening/night's sleep!
Hugs,
Marlene :^)
Sorry I 'havered' so much,lol. ;^D

Beautiful shot! Some interesting and unusual trivia you have there. I laughed out loud at the turtles breathing through their butts. LOL Anyway, excellent clarity and colors. :)
Masterful use of the rock to emphasize the heron.

I think it came out okay???? Silly, that's a wonderful picture!!!! I especially like the colorful Carp in the water, it really adds to it!!!!! Hugs!!!
Well, I don't know much, but I know I like it. I never had much to do with herons, Marlene, but it reminds me. I had a pheasant once, and crossed it with a chicken. I got a "Ficken." Then I crossed the pheasant with a goose and got a "Foose!" Then (yes, you guessed it) came the duck. I called the baby "George."
I do agree with the photography team : this excellent picture deserves its selection in LWitG [ Last Week in the Galleries : http://backroom.renderosity.com/~photo/newweb/last_week_in_galleries/lwig_may15-22_06.html ] Well done, Marlene ! :~)
5.Marilyn Monroe had six toes. (She also had a nightgown with twelve buttons but could only 'fascinate'. WINK). Superb shot!!
What a beautiful shot; serene and surreal.
Beautiful grey heron image.. I don't think the goldfishes will like it's presence very much.

What a beautiful image. Sorry - I'm a tad late - finally having a little more time to browse Galleries. And for your bird - It's Great Blue Heron - and how beautiful you did capture him - probably have to erase my Heron posts after seeing yours (Sigh). Bravo and double Bravo for great postwork!
