Description
Title's name is taken from yesterdays pictures comments... thanks everyone who thought it was an old quarry :)
Same surfacing, terrain, but different atmosphere here. This is also an older atmosphere, which I've redone. You've all seen several versions. This one is imho the best of the lot. More 'mysterious' which is the mood I wanted to impart. Slight levels adjustment, sharpening to the surfaces. Some blending of the sky after I originally uploaded as it was oddly pixelly. Birds, sig and frame all in PSP 9.
For those who left comments on yesterdays New Day, my deepest thanks. Bob, took your advice moved the camera back and up higher. Hope this is better :)
Be well,
Have a super Mothers Day to all the U.S. Moms :)
as always,
Pat

Beautiful atmosphere and image, Pat, simply breathtaking!!
Beautiful sky!
super work.............
Looking good Pat. I like this lighting and clouds. Another thing to try would be to click on the sun settings; go to 'Lighting of Atmosphere'. Set 'Glow Power' at 100%. Play with the 'Glow Amount' percentage at different settings. You may find that you can create highlights on the terrain by increasing this setting. Also, I would suggest you reduce the 'decay' density to adjust the amount of redness of the terrain and sky.
Oooo, what a mood you've created here Pat! Very mysterious indeed! The sky is amazing...gorgeous color! I like how the detail shows up so well in this dark scene...very nicely done!!
Very nice atmo and terrain:excellent job!
Oh, Pat... this one would sit very nicely on my study wall. I think it would look wonderful in a frame. Agree with Bob with the Glow Power. I'd like to see variants of this one to the nth power, 'cause it's fab.
Brilliant sky, atmo/light, colors and mood!
Beautiful sky!
fabulous sky
Poly & Gon will dine elegantly tonight. beautiful! ")
You certainly are the master of browns. Looks like you just started mining this. Do you have any slate?
Happy mother's day Pat! This is just stunning. I love the atmosphere in this one. :)
Gorgeous sky. Hope you won't take offence at this but I think you'd be better off without the sharpening brush. To me it just makes the image seem as though it has odd blurred patches all over it, sorry. Try a straight forward resize/sharpen and then, if you still feel certain parts need further sharpening, use a low opacity so that you can build it up gradually. I really like the mood and atmosphere you achieve in your renders but not the postwork :(
WoW !! Super production here Pat!!! Love EVERYTHING about it!!!!

I love the tones of the mountains and the overall look at it all goes together excellent once again pat !

Oh Pat...what a soft and warm sky you've created. This is gorgeous! The texture of the terrain is soooo real looking! It definitely looks sandy and a fun place to build a sand castle.. ;-) Happy Mother's Day my friend and thank you so much for all of your comments!! VOTE
