Description
This is the home I am working toward owning someday, and is in fact - my dream home!
Located in Halifax County, North Carolina, this home was originally built around the 1760's. By whom is not yet known to me, but trust me - I'll find out for certain it's entire history before my research is done.
Today the property parcel is only 25 acres in size, but originally it was a cotton, tobacco, soybean, peanut, and corn plantation controlling over 1000 acres of real estate in the area.
During the mid 1800's this was the home of Col. John Harrison, and his wife Mary, whom still reside on the property today, in the cemetary that sits off to the right of this home, just outside of the frame.
Throughout most of the 1900's, to this day, the property has been owned by the Hines' family, whom I first met back in December of 1975.
I will no doubt be posting more images of this home and some of it's history and features, over the upcoming months.
Have a most excellent day, and thanks for looking!
