Description
..well, you never know. They may watch wildlife in the evening, the same way I do.
The dragon (a magnificent old male, probably scarred from a recent mating flight) is, I think, posed a little stiffly but am not sure how to go about making him look more.. relaxed - so advice from the dragon-renderers out there is appreciated - some of the stuff I've seen here with the Millenium Dragon is truely beautiful, fluid and natural - no easy feat and I take my hat off to you! It's hard enough to get a human figure to look relaxed and that's something I have reference material for every day - to realistically render a mythological (apparently ;) creature takes some real skill.
Thanks to all for previous comments :) I enjoy reading them and they all help to improve things - knowing what people like/don't like about an image is terrific - the impetus for this one originally came from the comments made about the trees in the ruins in the background of 'Crossbow & Elf'... it was interesting to see people seemed to like the scenery arrangement most about the pic so thanks for the inspiration too! 'Drakkenfly' was also rendered almost directly off the back of a comment too :) which is great fun..
Right, I'll stop waffling :p Hope you enjoy the pic and have fun!!

I love this render it is filled with so many wonderful colors. In posing the dragon I have found that the neck can make or break the pose. I usually wont touch the center morph dials and only will use the one closest to the body (bend all bend s or something like that) Gives the neck a more fluid pose I have found. Excellent image though.
Beautiful colors and mood in this piece. I would agree that the dragon does look a bit stiff though. HIs stance seems to be much like a dogs, which for me at least doesnt quite fit a dragon. I would imagine something much more fluid, perhaps something more akin to a big cat crouching might fit better. Overall an excellent render though...I really like this.
AWESOME FANTASY IMAGE..V..:}
Good fantasy image.
Excellent composition - I love the colours. About the dragon, what about raising his hind legs so that the back is more like a slope than a levelled line? And maybe have the wings folded along the sides?
You know to me I see the dragon as in the right pose. You say hes scared from a recent fight? well who wouldnt be stiff the morning after a rough fight? eh thats just me thou haha and im definatly a newbie. but i really enjoy this pic very much. excellent job!!
I love it, and all the little details help tell the story; form the can of waste in the stream, the fallen leaves, to the flock of birds flying over head. Great colors, and great work. Oh yeah love the pose of the young lady. She looks like a pro at sneaking around her environment, but then again I guess she would have to be. :) Keep up the good work.
Hope the water isn't too toxic!!!
Excellent Dragon scene! The mood is really sad and lonely, just the way it is for some older people that have lived a long life and are out of touch. It makes me sad, but I like it because you can relate to it. Wonderful work! :)
Beautiful work with marvellous colours.
It is a bit sad to see a dragon so thin, but it give feeling to the scene. As for dragons, I work with them quite a bit, and the more you work them, the more relaxed them become. :) They are very versatile: if curious, they cock their head. They can look shocked, and even laugh. Just think of them as people with claws!
