Description
Continuing on with my Rodeo series, this cowboy throws a perfect lariat around the neck of this young calf as it tries to run away. This is just the beginning of the fun. Next he's gotta wrestle this calf to the ground and tie up 3 of it's legs. No horses or calves were hurt in this Rodeo....More tomorrow...
Thanks for you comments on my last post from this Rodeo..Have a great week everyone! Aloha!

Another great capture Dave. Love the stop action of the lariat. Awesome work, as always. Catch ya when I return from Vegas. Aloha
Oh wow, another rodeo shot, very cool capture of the action here.
3 of its legs??? Now thats just mockery, lol. Amazing how you froze that lariat (yaaaay, learnt a new english word today...wonder what it means, lol) so perfectly. And the look on his face tells of a most focused man...who probably should pick on bulls his own size instead of harrassing the little ones. #:oP Such a cool series. Hope you have some shots of the two of them wrestling away as well. Have a smashing evening buddy! #:O)
I'm just impressed of your timing anf focus. Excellent capture. Aloha
YEEE HAWWWWWWWW! roped him good!!! excellent capture!! impressive !!
Wicked timing! Lovely focus, love that the whole scene is in the framing this time, love the ppl in the background too!
I quite agree - let him pick on someone his own size!
Wow! Such a fantastic action shot. You really captured it very well. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Dave, this is an amazing shot! Are you using a digital camera that captures action this crisp with a telephoto lens? If so which one?
Cool action shot!!!!! Gotta love those cowboys!
:) this shot is sooo cool, excellently done!!!!
This poor little bugger is getting ready to be jerked off his feet. Well, I guess that's a sport though. Yes it was fantastic timing!!! That lasso has an almost perfect circle! Wonder how they keep that rope so stiff?
It's Rodeo Week here in Tucson, so I'm seeing a lot of this stuff lately. Excellent action shot.
A perfect capture by you and the guy with the lariat. Fun to see these rodeo pics.
Encore une photo de toute beaut!
Wow, impressive action capture of this calf catching! What a thrill to see this happen and performed so professionally! Gorgeous work, Dave! :)

Perfect timing on this one too!!! I'm interested in those front footies the horse has on?? I wonder what that's for??? I just noticed it on both shots so far... excellent work Dave!!!!!!!
Here in the states there are protesters who follow the rodeos around complaining of the cruelty to animals...especially the bull rides...
